South Burlington Fire Job Opening


FIREFIGHTER – E.M.T.

The South Burlington Fire Department is currently accepting applications for a Career Firefighter-EMT position. All applicants will be prioritized based on their current emergency services qualifications.  Once the application review process is complete, some or all applicants will be invited to move on to the next phase of the hiring process to include: job based written examination, oral interview, criminal background check, and reference check to include former employers.  Those applicants will be notified of dates and times for the next phase.

Applicants must be/have:
-       18 years of age
-       High School Diploma or GED
-       Valid Drivers License
-       VALID CPAT card or certificate

Qualifications/certifications which we are looking for include any or all of the following:
-       Current Pro-Board Firefighter 1
-       Current Vermont and/or National Registry EMT-B,A, or P
-       Hazardous Materials Operations Level
-       Fire Apparatus Operator Certification
-       Emergency Services College Degree
-       Past Fire and EMS experience

Applications may be obtained from the South Burlington City Manager’s office or at www.sburl.com, click on the Employment and Volunteer Opportunities TAB and print out an employment application, located in the upper right hand corner.  PLEASE NOTE: Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted.  Applications should also include an up to date resume and any other pertinent information.
